Hobbit Declared a New Species as Debate Continues

Hobbit Species Debate ArticleQuote:Ker ThanLiveScience Staff WriterLiveScience.com Mon Jan 29, 5:40 PM ET New computerized casts of abnormally small Homo sapiens brains are reigniting the debate over the skeletal remains nicknamed "The Hobbit." Ever since the 18,000-year-old remains of the three-foot-tall adult female hominid were unearthed in 2003 on the remote Indonesian island of Flores, scientists have argued whether the specimen was a human with an abnormally small head or represents a new species in the human family tree. This is one debate that I'm fascinated with. Thanks for the update. Interesting how National Geographic just went with the story, months ago, almost as soon as 'hobbit' was discovered. Get your story in NG, and it'll become part of the popular culture...doesn't matter what your critics say. "All beings are the owners of their deeds, the heirs to their deeds." Didn't they later find a bunch of other specimines with proportionate features eliminating any possibility that the initial specimine was a single macrocephalic human? Every story must come to an end.
