Geeessee! Will anyone give my book a look?
The story is true. It has all the compelling elements... sex, drugs, lies, murder. However, it has one element that true stories don't have. Please take a look at: www.acrimeworsethanmurder.com I need feedback! I need this story to be known... because there are those that don't want you to know.

i had a read of the link and these were my favourite bits
Her kindness and sincerity brought her friendships that spanned years.
Rick resonated as a tough looking biker and didn’t quite fit the text book profile that one would consider for a master of such a game
a twenty three year trek of enlightenment as an advocate for two voiceless victims of crime.

It has adversaries galore.
makes you wonder about public injustice and what might be being covered up right in your own back yard.

After checking out your post dealing with your book, I am interested and will probably check it outl. I am in the same boat as you, I have written what I think is a great historical novel on the Mormon War in Missouri and I am now trying to get the word out. It is a tough job. If you come up with any good tips on how to publicize a work, let me know.

Re: Geeessee! Will anyone give my book a look?
wow Bill, i had a quick look over at you site and found this..
when i think of the sheer volume of material to read i am staggered, so to find someone with time and interest, to find a reader, it reminds me of the music scene where there is so much material released or movies and tv where a staggering volume of output is hard to wade through (but i keep lookingand finding)
i just hope someone (at least one) manages to appreciate the baby in the bathwater, the petunia in the onion patch, the pearl in the oyster etc etc
as a kind of joke i thought kind of wishfully one day that if a new style emerged that used a short form, a distillation if you will, would emerge then i could read like 4 lines instead of four chapters.
haha epic, ulysses in 4 lines, Thomas Mann for those with no time...hahah
but i guess i am that distillery...
wanders off into the vageries of reveries of the eternal now...
loved it!As Jake listened to the old man speak in his native tongue, he was somehow reminded of the tinkling of flowing water, or the gentle murmur of the wind blowing through the bluestem grass. After the old man spoke to the woman for some time, she turned to Jake and said, "He say the dog will live for a time. He say dog is your brother and you are young, you having a bad time and need friend."

cheers Suzanne, is there a sub-genre called "lightning for the lazy" (20 words or less)
my daughter is home from uni at the mo' and i sat there appalled at myself as she read pages in what seemed to me like a single glance, i felt like fat albert at the olympic 100 metres
yeah i love writers that grab the highlights and thus give me the their time and give me more time, thats one of the things i love about campbell.
who said that "time is the enemy..."
guess i'll have to take a chill pill and "sit down on this bank of sand and watch the river flow..."

First let me say I'm very sorry for your loss. I can tell you still feel it keenly even after so many years. I imagine your story is probably quite intriguing, and I do enjoy true crime stories. Although the sample on your website was quite short, I found it a bit difficult to read, mostly because of the odd switches between past and present tense. Did you mean to do that? It's a rather odd style and somewhat confusing. Also, you have used some words completely incorrectly - for example, you used the word "bequest" when I think you meant "behest." Did you work with an editor?

Re: Geeessee! Will anyone give my book a look?
Kelstan, Thank you for your kind words. Yes, even after 24 years, I still miss my friends that were taken in the prime of their lives. In reference to the way I chose to write the book, after much thought I had decided to write it as a narrator and not as a character per se. Much of the wording in the book is taken from actual public record documents in order to keep this non-fiction novel true to form. It is a fact that as people speak, they tend to butcher the english language. I have found this most fascinating in respect to many professionals such as lawyers, judges and public officials. In keeping with this true story, even if a word is misspelled from the record, I will not change it. Regarding the tense, this book begins on May 3, 1988 and moves forward moment by moment in the first chapter, day by day in the second chapter and so on. Regressions are inserted to give an account of an individual character or event. Even considering my unorthodox approach in writing, you are the first to suggest being 'confused' by the content. I wish you had the opportunity to read more of the story, I would love to have your feedback.
