Post Game of Thrones HBO series? Ohyes.
Is anyone else excited about this?
George R. R. Martin's books may turn out to be a series on HBO depending on how the pilot goes.

I'm reading about this now at http://www.thrfeed.com/2008/11/hbo-orders-fant.html
Quote:
The program is based on George R.R. Martin’s bestselling series of novels "A Song of Fire & Ice" and executive produced by David Benioff ("Troy"), D.B. Weiss ("Halo") and Guymon Casady ("Hope & Faith"). The title “Game of Thrones” is from the first novel in the series.

If greenlit, “Thrones” would represent the rarest of TV genres: a full-fledged fantasy series.

Wow, this could be incredible. HBO creates some of the best stuff on TV today. I'm a big fan of...

Deadwood
Entourage
Sopranos
Rome
Big Love

This series could possibly rival them all as I am a fantasy lover.

George R R Martin is like my favorite author ever  . I've read almost all of his works. I just hope that the series do justice to the books :? .

I got to hear Martin speak at a convention in my city. Not only did he read a chapter from Dance with Dragons but he was also talking about the HBO series. He says that the two guys in charge of the whole operation are big fans of the series and they're going to try their best to keep it to the books. However, he also warned us not to hold our hopes too high as Hollywood is a fickle witch. He said it more colorfully than that, though.

But I hope it does keep true to the books. =D
