Re: Fiction Book Poll
HEY! New to the board. Love this idea of a voted on discussion. You get a great idea of who will get involved. I'm a "classics" fanatic – so I had to go with The Catcher In The Rye! Such and fantastic read. LOVE IT.

Argh!! So what happened to Cain? I missed something there. So we are doing the Russell Banks? I've been finding Cain a bit hard going, actually.

Re: Fiction Book Poll
I looked at a list of Banks work and the only title that looked familiar was The Sweet Hereafter, which was also made into a movie so I can't I actually read it. I have a very poor memory.Realz, glad you'll be joining us. Have you read any of Banks work?

Does anyone want to see George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four running in January and February?

Re: Fiction Book Poll
Chris, I don't think I'd be up to a second fiction, since I expect to still be involved with GG & S into January.Chris OConnor wrote:(Not to put any pressure on you, DWill. LOL But having a poll designed like this necessitates this question.)
Let's go with Lost Memory of Skin by Russell Banks right now and I'll wait to see if anyone changes their votes. We definitely can do a 2nd book. I'm just eager to get this 1st fiction book announced so people can place their orders and receive their books in enough time for the start of the discussion period.
In the future we'll try to get our polls up further in advance so that we all have a good 30 days to acquire our copies.
