FICTION BOOK POLL
Help select our April, May & June 2021 FICTION book!

As soon as we have 5 or more people voting for one of the below 5 fiction book choices we will then announce that book as the winner. A new forum will be created and we'll have a discussion of that winning book.

RULES:

#1. You need to have 5 or more posts on our forums to earn the right to vote in this poll. We do this so that people passing through, with no intention of actually participating, will not vote and skew the poll.

#2. You can vote for 1, 2, 3, 4, or all 5 of the book choices you like. The more books you vote for the easier it is for the community to find a book to read and discuss. Please skim all 5 book descriptions and a handful of reviews for each book and then vote for ALL books on the poll that you'd be willing to read and discuss with us.

#3. You can change your vote at any time or as often as you like up until the close of the poll. The poll will close when we have 5 votes for one book or a clear favorite. Please vote and then watch this poll and interact with us. Feedback and comments are encouraged and serve to make the best book more obvious.

#4. Spread the word please! Mention this fiction poll and upcoming discussion in your forum posts and private messages and even out there in the online AND offline world. Help make this a success.

," I have made my selections. I must question the inclusion of "Travels with Charley." It is a great book, and I have read it more than once. But is it fiction? I know some segments are questionable, but the book is (to me) more or a memior. However, wiser heads than mine may consider it fiction.

You're probably correct, Cattleman. Travels with Charley was one of the books suggested for this fiction discussion so I assumed it was fiction. I don't think I can edit this poll without screwing it up so I'll just leave it.

I'm good with any of these. Another Country might be a lot like stuff we have been discussing, but it also may be good for bringing in more voices.

I couldn't find the Bram Stoker Dracula in anything other than movie format when I was creating this poll. That led me to believe that maybe the Bram Stoker version, which is the one suggested, is only in movie format. But now I have found it so I apologize for the mistake. I cannot add it to the poll, but here is an idea. Since several people wanted Dracula I'm going to create that forum for April, May and June today. We can have two concurrent fiction book discussions going. Howz dat sound?

Bram Stoker's version is the original Dracula. It is a classic novel available for free at Gutenberg.org in various formats. Here is the link.

Are there other versions? I mean, maybe the character was rewritten in other stories, but I found one pretty easy.

We are still tied. Despite how the poll results look one member has emailed me changing his vote. And another member actually changed his vote in the poll. The bottom line is we still have a tie.
