Why do you say it's "mine?" I'm agnostic and recognize the good in religion. You obviously disagree with the militant atheists, you've already made that clear. Don't be mad at me for coming up with a different psychoanalysis.

Case in point your recent "god must be hiding" sarcasm was not an attempt at open minded dialogue. It was meant as an arrogant bashing of people that believe in God.

If god is not hiding, how do you explain the difference between biblical times and now? I think there's a kernel of truth here that's getting under your skin. Feel free to lash out at me for pointing out the obvious.

Do me a favor, Ant. Every time you refer to atheists broadly in such a way that requires you to say "the atheist," please add the following parenthetical modifier—"in his natural habitat." It would add a more scholarly tone and let your readers know that you're an authority on the subject. Eventually, you could collect these posts and publish them in a book entitled, "The Atheist In His Natural Habitat."

So the previous sentences would be worded as such:

I've always believed that the atheist, in his natural habitat, has more of a Freudian problem with the concept of "God" than anything.

The atheist, in his natural habitat, wants to be certain the he was once a fish. This brings him comfort.

By the way, this thread is awesome! It starts with an article about humans growing beaks and lately delves into the "idea" that atheists don't want to believe in God because they have daddy issues. I mean, seriously, you could not make this stuff up. Or maybe you can!
