Anyone have experience with Bit coins?

Unread post

I recently opened a bit coin account. I have not put any money in it by am interested in the possibilities they present to avoid banking fees and I am curious if any BT members have any experience with them. If you do, please share your experience here.

thank you.

I tried "mining" for some a while back, but could never get any. As a currency exchange and savings it might be worthwhile. I know they are used in black market exchanges.

I'm interested in Bitcoin, but not enough to actually use it. The price has fluctuated 50% twice in the last 4 months, so it's not much use as a store of value, one of the main features of currency. Perhaps one could speculate by buying low/selling high. Several exchanges have had to stop all withdrawals due to DDoS attacks using false trading info. Some folks invest large sums, say $6K - $15K in custom mining computers that have the potential to pay off significantly. In general the risk is too high for me...

This used to be a libertarian/anarchist fantasy: transactions that are untraceable and untaxable. Please keep us updated on what you find out/your experiences...

I'm always a bit slow to accept new technology. While I've heard of bitcoin I haven't invested the time into learning about it. And wasn't there just something in the news about there possibly being a huge bitcoin scam?

Bitcoin was used for black market websites. Not sure if that's the scam you were referring to. Though I have no doubt there are legitimate scams with the currency as well, just as there are with dollars.

An article about bitcoin ATM's:

As I posted above, I opened a buffoon account but haven't put any money in it. I was trying to find out more about evictions and thought that might help by giving me dissect access to information. So far I still have the same issues.

Has anyone seen bitcoin value fluctuations compared with the dollar's?

As to bitcoin price history, the chart below shows it has been extremely volatile in the past 5 months.

Dear the autocorrect on my Kindle. I typed Bitcoin but it 'corrected' it to buffoon. Perhaps Kindle was making an editorial comment.

One computer I had would change 'Pentium' to a part of male anatomy.

This form of currency is gaining some attention, if for anything, the lack of understanding around it. I've not used it myself, nor do I have any future plans too as I cannot purchase gas, food, or the essentials of life with it yet, but then again, I can't do the same with gold either. LOL!
