Apparently Neil deGrasse Tyson had been doing this for years.. much like that renowned pervert Richard Feynman.

Rather sad. Evidently a person can be a genius and a boor at the same time. Sometimes worse than just a boor.

Of course, there is no particular reason to associate the behavior with the atheism. We have many examples of religious leaders, Catholic, Protestant and otherwise, guilty of similar behavior. It isn't even limited to men. A good discussion with a shrink could help many of them.

No, of course not. That was not my intent. But Tyson has been known to flaunt his atheism as if it were some sort of badge of high esteem. Also, some atheists often do associate atheism with higher degrees of morality than that of people who believe in "sky fairies" and spaghetti monsters.

Never knew that about Krauss. Thanks for sharing that article.

But it was my impression that Tyson doesn't flaunt atheism as morally superior, vs. someone like Richard Dawkins. I could be wrong on that.

That may be true in the sense that he's not as slutty about it as someone like Dawkins

So he admits he told one of the accusers that if he hugged her he "might want more"

And the guy has been married since 1988.

He's a slut.

.
.
So Tyson drugged and raped a woman 8 years ago and we know this because the woman said so. After her accusation 2 other women are accusing Tyson of sexual harassment.

Obviously we should have Tchiya Amet testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee.

There's a certain amount of glee in the Progressive Christian community about how poorly the evangelicals have done in dealing with abusive male leaders. Of course, progressives include a fair number of abusive leaders as well. No group seems to be immune. The dynamics of interaction with self-absorption and ego are worth some serious study, in this age of mass communication and celebrity.

For instance, if dominating others is an addiction, as it seems to have been for Harvey Weinstein, what are we learning about enablers and the role of money in shaping them to be that? And if that's what idol-worship looks like, what does that tell us about worship in general, and therefore the true God in particular?
