Post With the election one day away how does everybody feel?
I feel pretty confident about this election. Most people on here who have talked politics with me, know my stance on it. So I won't reiterate what I've said so many times before. I just feel that after tomorrow, I mean after January, things will be headed or start to be headed in the right direction!

How can you put so much hope in these people? Who is selling you this dream? Nothing happens over night and yesterday's mistakes last a long time and take a while to get sorted out. The Republicans have a great plan to heal the economy, do they? I've never heard it. Have you? What is it?

Relieved! I'm sick of ads.

"(insert democratic candidate here) voted to outsource jobs!!" "but wait (insert republican candidate here) is also outsourcing jobs!!" And then there's the bad photos and dramatic music and out of context quotes... Reeeally annoying.

Also, kind of excited. It'll be my first time voting! :)

President Camacho........first of all, nobody is selling me any kind of dream. If all of you would just wake up and see how horrible a job Obama and Pelosi are doing to screw up this economy worse than it was with Bush. At first, I did not think that a war should have been started so soon after 9/11. But once we were at war, I came to realize that these terrorists needed to know that after they killed all of those innocent American's for no reason and, we needed to retaliate in some way, and war was the only way to tell these terrorists that we meant business! So in essence, Bush deserves more credit than anyone can imagine! I will admit that war set back the economy of the United States, ,but, never to the extent that Obama has done. I realize that Obama has only been in office for two years but, most of the damage done to this country, whether it be all of the unemployed, not giving raises to the disabled such as myself and he was way too busy with Obama care. Way too much money was spent on a health reform bill that no one seems to like anyhow. Being disabled, I live off that money and by not getting an increase in two years when everything else in this country is going up in value, us disabled people are suffering the most and there are some unemployed people; in fact way too many unemployed people, whose unemployment has run out and still cannot find a job. People are losing their homes because either they are unemployed for much more of the time than they ever envisioned and Obama is the one at fault for all of this downward spiraling. Nothing, and I mean nothing has this president done to help states. Obama did not create the job opportunities he originally promised!!!!!! Now, because of this, people HAVE LOST houses and are practically living on the streets. So, to most of the people that posted on here, all I want to say is when you go to vote tomorrow, please remember all of these true facts and yes, THEY ARE TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!! so to answer the question above, who put ideas in your head that the country is in such great shape? Honestly, if I could, I would move out of the country where the government is run the way ours should be. Unfortunately, because I am disabled I have to live with a lot less than people who are able work work or can find jobs. Good luck to them! The kids are getting out of college today are taking any old job completely out of their field that they majored in just to stay afloat and try to pay back the government. That is becoming very difficult because the jobs of the students find a very little and at this point in time, they may have their government loans paid off before they die!

If yours is any, I'd guess that it's a mental disability.

You fail to grasp the concept between an elective war and one of necessity. The war against terrorism is necessary while the one against Iraq was completely voluntary. Credit? Bush is owed all the credit. You're right... He deserves all the credit for setting back the U.S. so drastically.

With all the racial animosity in this country a black man was elected president. I say this because people in this country put their beliefs before logic. WHY? Why were all the democrats elected? Why?????????? Because people were WTF?!?!?! Remember?!?!? REMEMBER?!?!?! Remember everyone WTF?!?!?! We were dying economically, losing our edge, and drooooooowning! You know how many books were written questioning our hegemony? Questioning whether we'd make it out alive?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!!

Turn off Fox. It's making you a Republican Stahrwe.

I really wish the Democrats would launch a scare campaign... it's the only way these people perk up - through terror.

first of all, I believe you owe me an apology! I. am physically disabled in the statement you made was so very off base and so very unnecessary. What you said it better mental disability is truly in very poor taste.the men/women who came home from war, are they mentally incompetent to vote today???????? I cannot know anything about you but after what you said, I think a lot less of you!

All I have to say is that I am a tea party activist by own choosing and I will vote for people who are backed by that party! If I don't get an apology from you, then you are a huge jerk! Please do me one favor and do not reply to my posts ever again

How can I apologize if I can never reply to your posts ever again? lol.

I'm happy to see you're a level headed person who doesn't allow emotions to guide their decisions. I also see you've carefully enumerated all the reasons why you've decided to be a Bush Party Activist by citing how they intend to 'save' our nation from the condition they've put it in.

What I said wasn't off-base. I wish I had a time machine to whisk you back to when your Republicans were in office to show you what a disastrous state the country was in and how it was going full speed towards catastrophe, building up more and more momentum every day. Obama doesn't have a magic wand to right all the mistakes the Republicans have made. Now the neo-cons have a new brand - Tea Party. Same jive b/s. I'm not falling for it. I'm sorry you did.

do you know what president? Or will I did tell you the one you that but after you made the comment that you did about people with a mental disorder not thinking clearly enough to vote, I knew I had a reply to the biggest ass that you are. There are plenty of people who are on mental disability who still think clear enough to vote. My best friend is bipolar. Does that mean in your eyes that she is unable to vote? I'm sorry but this statement you made hit a major chord with me!! I also know someone who asbergers syndrome...... should she not vote either? So what you have told me is that anyone with a mental disability should not have the ability to vote? And I am supposed to answer the rest of your quote? Well, since you made a comment like that, you're the one who must be mentally challenge! All I have to say to you, as I pray to God that you do not do today. Pushing those buttons is really hard for someone like you.!!

Post Re: With the election one day away how does everybody feel?
Today's election results are depressing. In every area in which they disagree, Democratic policies are superior to Republican policies. The more Republicans that are elected, the more the American people suffer.

Sure, the economy sucks now, but that's mainly because it sucked when Obama became President. After all, the lousy economy is the primary reason that the Democrats did so well in the 2008 elections, though the Iraq War and Obama's charisma compared to the lameness of McCain, Palin, and Bush was also a factor. Obama's policies kept things from getting worse, but he didn't do enough to turn things around.

Actually, Obama was the best US President of my lifetime. He, along with Congressional Democrats, passed two programs that improved the lives of millions of Americans. The stimulus package generated between 1.5 and 3.3 million jobs. The health care plan will provide medical care to millions of Americans. Obama, unlike most Presidents, hasn't done anything to make things worse, besides escalating the war in Afghanistan.

phillies, if you want to increase your disability payments, you should support Democrats. After all, Democrats are more inclined to increase social spending, while Republicans almost always cut social programs in order to afford tax cuts for the wealthy and increase military spending. The Tea Party candidates who you support will just make you poorer.
