which way are you planning to vote on Tuesday... Democrat or Republican?
I was always a stout Democrat because my father told us that was the way to vote. Well, dad's gone now and the state of the economy is such a mess. I then decided it was time for change in our government system so I not only changed my to Republican but have also become a tea party activist. How is everybody else going to vote on Tuesday and why?????

Voting Republican... you must be rich!!! Tax breaks for the super rich here you come. Who do you think started Tarp? Who do you think is getting the money back from tarp? hehe Well, it may not be all bad. There needs to be some balance, I guess. Too much of one side is always a problem.

that was Bush and he was the worst president ever until Obama came into power. Obama is the absolute worst president in my entire life of voting! Remember, Bush had no clue what he was doing. Time to get a knowledgeable Republican back into the White House! This time my friend, the Democrats have totally screwed up! Time to get some real leaders in there.

I'm voting a straight Democratic ticket, as I always do. My views are to the left of the Democratic party. My biggest criticism of Obama is that he's too centrist and that he accommodates Republicans & conservative Democrats too much.
Clearly, the economy still sucks and lots of people are suffering. The economy was in horrible shape when Obama took office, and he hasn't done enough to improve things. For example, the stimulus package didn't include enough spending, in part because 40% of the package was wasted on tax cuts that don't really help the economy. Still, even with a more aggressive response from Obama, which would have been difficult to get through Congress anyway, the economy would still be in bad shape today.
Things will get worse if, as expected, a bunch of right-wing extremists enter Congress and pursue their disastrous policies.

Obama worse than Bush... wow. That's dangerous thinking there, imho. When I see people write stuff like that I get the same feeling as when I see people filling up in a BP station.
The direction the country is going is good. We need to keep working at fixing things and not aggravate the healing process by bringing in another lost child Republican that has no real plans.
Tell me what the Republican plan is for growth? Trickle down?
When a Republican took office my pay was cut unilaterally. Some who came before me lost thousands per year. After we were given less money, management all got huge raises - 10's of thousands per person!!! When we filed grievances they were all ignored - I'll be surprised after all this time if all the past grievances have been heard (they tried grouping some together to get them resolved faster). We were not allowed to leave the job site not even for lunch. We were forced to either bring a bag lunch or buy from a vendor that they gave a contract to who over-charged for bomb shelter food. We had to dress in specific attire of button down shirts, slacks, and dress shoes and other benefits such as freedom to work extra time for time off in the future was denied. Life was pure hell. Pure, pure hell for anyone who wasn't management making huge salaries! I'm talking over 200k for sitting at a desk.
I don't want to get trickled on, my friend. I'd rather vote Democrat and struggle along with the good fight than live in hell under a Republican and watch the country slide back down into complete ruin.

I would say I'm voting moderate, right in the middle. But the conservative right has gone so far right that it's lunacy, I'm actually more like far left due to them shifting the spectrum. I usually don't vote, but I realize we need every intelligent vote we can get to counter the mindless Fox news horde that votes the way Glenn Beck wants.

Re: which way are you planning to vote on Tuesday... Democrat or Republican?
I typically vote for the candidate, not strictly along party lines. I have vacillated for and against incumbent Democrat Congressman Heath Schuler until I read this today. This is what Heath Schuler entered into the official congressional record last year with regards to the Health Care bill:
Heath Shuler: "One of the reasons I have long supported the U.S. biotechnology industry is that it is a homegrown success story that has been an engine of job creation in this country and in my home state of North Carolina."
This sounds fine on the face of it. Until you read what other candidates have said.
Quote:
Joe Wilson: One of the reasons I have long supported the U.S. biotechnology industry is that it is a homegrown success story that has been an engine of job creation in this country.
Kay Granger: One of the reasons I have long supported the U.S. biotechnology industry is that it is a homegrown success story that has been an engine of job creation in this country.
Lee Terry: One of the reasons I have long supported the U.S. biotechnology industry is that it is a homegrown success story that has been an engine of job creation in this country.
Ted Poe: One of the reasons I have long supported the U.S. biotechnology industry is that it is a homegrown success story that has been an engine of job creation in this country.
Blaine Luetkemeyer: One of the reasons I have long supported the U.S. biotechnology industry is that it is a homegrown success story that has been an engine of job creation in this country.
Lynn Jenkins: One of the reasons I have long supported the U.S. biotechnology industry is that it is a homegrown success story that has been an engine of job creation in this country.
What's the deal here? Why are all these candidates saying the same thing? It turns out that statements by more than a dozen lawmakers were ghostwritten, in whole or in part, by Washington lobbyists working for Genentech, one of the world’s largest biotechnology companies.

I voted Democrat, and I'm not ashamed of it. I voted in that direction because I believe in what they stand for, and I can't get on board with the lies that I've consistently seen Republicans feed us. I'm even less interested in the Tea Party movement because I don't trust them. I wish the best for your political change, but I'm sorry to see that happen. Your dad was a smart man.
