Biology was my choice. I'm fascinated by evolutionary biology, too.
My BA was in Linguistics -- I don't usually think of it as a science...I don't usually think of Linguistics as a subject at all: to me Language and its rules are the framework through which I see the world.
Anyway, Mr. P, the best intro I've ever read on the subject was Stephen Pinker's "The Language Instinct"...which is essentially Part 1 of "How the Mind Works".
