Which fiction book would you like us to read and discuss as a group next?

Please read these brief and simple rules before you vote.

There are 10 choices on this poll. All 10 books are available 100% free online at Project Gutenberg in numerous formats. You don't have to spend any money to participate. We're hoping this will motivate more people to join us in this group discussion.

Please vote for ALL of the books you would consider reading and discussing with us next. If you only like a few of the choices then vote for those books. If you're just excited to participate in the next fiction book discussion and are willing to read whatever we decide to read then vote for all 10 books. And you can vote for a few now and then come back and add votes for more books later. In fact add and remove votes however you like. All the way up to the end of the poll you have the freedom to do as you wish with your votes.

We'll only select one book to read so the book with the most votes will win. So don't vote for only your top choice. You have far more power and influence in this poll. Spend some time reading the descriptions of each book (click on the links) and then vote for as many as you like. We're hoping you'll be flexible and willing to participate in the next fiction discussion no matter what book wins.

Anyone can vote no matter how many posts they have on the forums BUT only votes by members with 10 or more posts on our forums will be counted. This means new members are encouraged to vote but once you're done voting hit the forums and join some discussions. The goal is to keep our polls pure and only allow members to vote who are really serious about sticking around and participating. So please help us and don't vote if you're not going to read and discuss the winning book with us. Whenever the poll closes we'll simply delete the votes of people with less than 10 posts.

How long will this poll stay open? Until we have a good sized group excited about reading and discussing one of our books.

A most interesting selection. Of the ten books listed, I have (over the years) read six. I have voted for two which I have NOT read yet, but which I think would be interesting reads.

I vote Frankenstein, by Mary Shelley. I had a class discussion of the book last Sunday and it's an absolutely amazing book when you really look into it.

I voted Frankenstein as well. Mainly because it's been sitting on my shelf for a long time. But I never got to reading it.. So it would be a perfect chance now.

I'm not a first-timer to the book, but it's certainly different when you're reading the book (Frankenstein) for the first time. The first thing you'll notice is how articulate the language is. The next thing you'll notice is vast descriptions of natures and scenery. There was a literary movement happening at the time it was written known as 'romanticism.'

There are two arguments involved when it comes to novel analysis. I won't give away details of the plotline, so you may read into it yourself.

Since Game of Thrones is no longer getting posts here is what I'm going to do.

1. Create a forum right now for Frankenstein and announce that as our current fiction discussion. No need to wait till July 1st to start that discussion seeing as we don't have another fiction book currently being discussed. Also, it is available for free online so nobody has to wait for Frankenstein to be delivered.

2. I'll leave this poll up so people can continue voting. There are so many good choices on this poll that we could pick a second book to start in perhaps a month. So please keep voting!
