Welcome to the new BookTalk!
After years and years of contemplating a move we have finally made the much needed upgrade from ezboard to a much more sophisticated phpBB2 forum system. And from what I am seeing so far this is a MAJOR upgrade in every respect. I don't think most of you understand just how much of an upgrade this is yet. But you will! Just wait and see!
I'm very excited about how this change is going to impact our traffic and site stickiness. By "stickiness" I mean the amount of time members spend interacting with each other on the boards. How long they "stick" around as opposed to drifting off to other sites.
Now that you have found our new home you can help us out tremendously by telling all your friends about BookTalk. We need the traffic and activity, so don't be shy and spread the news. One of the very best ways of getting the word out is to put a link to BookTalk in your email signatures. And I suggest using our Home page and not the current URL of these forums. Very soon our forums will be located directly on our Home page. So add a blurb about BookTalk being the best online reading group on the web today - and use the URL www.booktalk.org in your signatures. If you have a personal site or Blog please consider adding a link to BookTalk with the anchor text of "The Freethinker's Book Discussion Group." I thank you in advance!
Use these 3+ forums in the top section as a place for learning about the changes, upgrades, features and ongoing development of our new forums. Also, be aware that our entire site is going to be redesigned over time. So your participation in these top forums is encouraged and greatly appreciated. Your opinion matters!
Welcome to the new BookTalk! |

| Beautiful. I have long advocated a switch to something like phpBB. I am sure everyone unfamiliar with this essential and basic forum setup will quickly get used to the new features and community building aspects of the forum. |

You guys should go into your profiles and change your sex. Such a sex change usually is quite expensive, but here on BookTalk we can just click a button.
...unless you enjoy the ambiguity. |
