WANTED: One or two discussion leaders!

We need one or two active members to step up to the plate and volunteer to be discussion leaders for this book. Do I see any hands?Chris "The man who does not read good books has no advantage over the man who cannot read them"

I'm willing to be a discussion leader if someone else will do it with me. I have not read much of the book yet. It may take me some time to actually generate discussion. I would need someone else to start off the discussion. If someone will help me out, I'm game.

I can sign on, since I pushed the book for so long. And if I've got Tara to help me, it'll be easier for both of us!

[whisper/] Pssssssst, Chris! Nice neon blue forum heading! [/whisper] Hey, you notice that Sagan quoted Ammianus Marcellinus in one of the first chapters? I think it must've been Chapter One; I've only read the Foreword.

TiarellaChapter One starts with a quote from Marcus Aurelius and one from Ammianus Marcellinus. To those that don't know, a group of us are reading and discussing The Later Roman Empire: A.D. 354-378, by Ammianus Marcelinus, down in The Academy forum. You're all welcome to join us - we haven't really begun the discussion part of the project. I guess most people are still reading...I know I am.Quote:As the astronomers unanimously teach, the circuit of the whole earth, which to us seems endless, compared with the greatness of the universe has the likeness of a mere tiny point.Ammianus Marcellinus (CA 330-395)Chris "The man who does not read good books has no advantage over the man who cannot read them"
