Finished this book off now. The chapter on the near death of Annie Laurie helped me to realize how Barker detaches his feelings from his writing which made me rethink the things I said about his lack of feeling for leaving his first wife and children, especially when he's looking back over twenty years.
I do still think that even though he sees himself as enlightened and dealing only in what is right and truthful, he still reminds me of an evangelist, one agenda, a zealous mission. But, we do need voices on all sides and people like him who are willing to stand up for what they believe help us all to ask more questions and prod those who would like to bury their head in the sand.
