I love to write poems and I wrote this one after the Connecticut shootings and wanted to share.

I saw God today
He was with 20 children
They were running and jumping and laughing
God sat there watching them
His vision of how life should be
Full of happiness and joy
Not the sorrows of today
Not the hurts that many feel
Not the fear that destroys man
Not the violence that plagues his earth
Not wastefulness, not greed, not anger
Prayer should not be taken for granted
For it gives each something to feel other than
These tendencies that seem to be spreading through the hearts of humans
We are all made in God’s vision
A vision of beauty and love for all that you see
A love for self and others
In Heaven there is no negative feelings or pain
For those that suffer on earth know that you will find freedom in the gates to heaven when it is your time
Know that we as humans have a right to choose; you can choose to feel the unconditional love he sets forth
Or you can feel the pain and hatred for the acts done by others that are suffering
You have a choice and it is your choice
No one can make it for you
You must decide how you want to be
God gave each of us a gift of choice
He wanted for us to have this type of freedom
I choose life filled with unconditional love and it fills my heart fully in ways no one could ever know
Today I saw God in my dreams and he had 20 beautiful children that are pain free, happy, and loved beyond words.
I saw the twinkle in their eyes as they played freely without fear in their hearts
I woke with a smile on my face for I know that God will take care of them and I can let go of my fear and sadness of their deaths
I can fill my heart full of joy and happiness that they will not have to live on a planet that is full of fear and hate
Instead they live in a beautiful place that will never harm them
But will fill them full of love and happiness
I saw God today with 20 beautiful happy children
