On p 239 De Waal says that he doesn't, "believe in the continued evolution of the human race". Does anyone here at BookTalk have an opinion on this? Have we stopped evolving?

Neoteny

Unread post

Whenever this topic comes up, it always intrigues me. I believe that even Darwin mentioned neoteny in humans. Here on p 240 De Waal mentions the idea that bonobos have also retained juvenile traits. I wonder what other juvenile traits might one day be pulled by evolution, from the warehouse of characteristics in our early development.
