I'm just a bit over half way through Ehrman's book.
It's a good read. He pointed out some interesting things in particular about Doherty: that Doherty revises his claims, quotes mainstream scholars only when convenient, "historicizes" to the the 10th degree, and provides no hard evidence for his claims.
This is the primary shtick about amateurs that write about ancient history as if it's factual - they do not have the background to be taken too seriously until examined closely by those that have dedicated their entire lives studying the field.

Calm down ant, Ehrman is a fine one to be criticising others for lack of evidence.
