Me, Myself and I

Unread post

Hello, my name is Sam and I am originally from Manchester in the UK.

I wanted to be a journalist but fell out of love with my university course and moved to the States to keep my options open.

When I was in the UK I interviewed an amazing writer called GM Jordan and his work literally changed my life. I remembered my brother had read his first book as a student but I found it aweful, when I went to meet him I told him how I felt and he laughed. He agreed with me but couldn't stop a company releasing it.

The other books he has written have just been captivating and through him I have met editors and other writers, all of whom have encouraged me to find my own path if the academic world isn't for me. I have been introduced to the power of graphic novels and how they can aid in education, I have found my own sexuality is not open for discussion when the person I am talking to is narrow minded or judgemental.

Feel free to make some recommendations in the "Fiction Forum." If you happen to be the author of the books say so in the post. Authors are welcome to plug their books but we want to know it is the author doing the plugging.

I wish I could write a book but for now I just appreciate other peoples.

Recently I was given Sean Michael Wilson's Sweeney Todd book which was for Classical Comics, it was always a story I was aware of but never got into. Needless to say it set the hairs standing on the back of my neck. They do some great books to help students but even through I have left uni I really love reading Frankenstein and Jane Eyre, both are in the series of classic's.
