Now that the chat session with Ann is over I thought I'd create this thread as a place for us to express our gratitude to Ann. That was an excellent chat session...I'm sure you'll all agree. If you would like to post a brief message to Ann you can do so here. I'll compile the messages into a letter and mail it to her. Thanks guys!Chris "For Every Winner, There Are Dozens Of Losers. Odds Are You're One Of Them"

JamesThese comments will go in a letter. Do you really want me to tell Ann you said "seconded?" That might not make too much sense to her. Chris Edited by: Chris OConnor  at: 10/30/05 10:33 pm

Ann Druyan, thank you! Over the years I have lost much of my initial faith in science, at least as it is practiced here in the USA. Researchers' need to scramble and compete for money has led far too many to allow their marketing needs to dictate their research goals and even influence their research outcome. You remind me that there are still honest scientists. Chatting with you is therefore deeply reassuring: not only are you a person of integrity, but you clearly are in contact with many others like yourself. Your faith in science's potential helps to restore mine. Thank you!Tiarella
