Checks and Balances

Unread post

One of the prime features of our system of government is our checks and balances. How do you think Hobbes addresses this issue? Are there checks and balances in his government?

Without checks and balances, it can be argued that only a strong centralized state authority exists for Hobbes. What consequences come with this, if any?

Is having a strong centralized state power preferable to one with checks and balances?
