My on and off relationship with Christopher Hitchens.

After reading Hitchens for many years, I filed his words under “ Hitchens before” and “Hitchens after". Earlier, probably until the late ninties , I admired his contrarian biting approach ,because he was on my side with others like John Pilger,Susan Sonntag, Gore Vidal and Noam Chomsky.
He changed direction and the left, sadly, lost a powerful and persuading fighter.
Still I read him. It feels like I'm watching a boxing match… he is the best when it comes to verbal punches, even though his opponent may just be the nicer guy.
Off to his Essays….
