How should this book discussion be formated?

How should this book discussion be formated?There appear to be about 33 chapters in, "I, Claudius." Should we have 11 threads that each cover a total of 3 chapters each? Or should we just allow the discussion to unfold naturally without any sort of rigid framework?MadArchitect, what is your take on this question?

I like the way the free-form discussion is going in the "A Peace to End All Peace" forum, but I don't think that's appropriate for a fiction book. The most basic problem is that people like to control the flow of information -- without some kind of correspondence between thread and chapter, it's easy to run across spoilers.I haven't taken a look at the basic structure of the book yet (still need to get a copy), but if there's no larger division into parts or books, I'd say 11 thread covering three chapters each sounds like a good balance.Another question that springs to mind, though: will two months give us enough time? It's a pretty long book, and we want to make sure that everyone has a chance to finish and discuss during the official time frame.

As Mad says, organizing the discussion by chapter groupings makes sense, so people can avoid spoilers. We can have separate discussions of random broader topics.I, Claudius may be long, but its sequel Claudius the God is even longer. Anyway, the discussion here should can continue as long people are reading the book and have stuff to say.

Yes, we can easily extend the reading period if we see a high level of interest in the book.
