A Wizard of Earthsea

Unread post

As I didn't have The Left Hand of Darkness to hand, I read the first book of Le Guin's Earthsea Trilogy, A Wizard of Earthsea.

A Wizard of Earthsea creates a world of small ocean islands based on earth, with wizardry as the defining theory. The young wizard Ged struggles against his shadow, linking the mythology of magic with the psychology of Carl Jung.

I would be interested to hear from other readers how these themes inform The Left Hand of Darkness.
