Glad to be aboard

Unread post

I have been reading since I was 5 years old; I am currently 70+. I am male, a retired attorney who raises cattle on a small east Texas farm. My reading tastes are broad; one of my interests is science fiction, which I also try to write. Sidenote: I was saddened to learn of Ray Bradbury's passing, though I hope I can live as long as he did.

Recent reads have included: The Hunger Games, Catching Fire; Leviathan, Behomoth; Hull Zero Three, Embassytown,. I also listen to audiobooks while riding my stationary bicycle; Flags of Our Fathers, In Harm's Way. Currently reading John Grisham's "The Litigators," and Suzanne Brockman's "Born to Darkness" (audio).

Cattleman, welcome to BT. You might want to join us in the discussion of World War Z. Have you published anything?

Welcome to the community! :-)

I'm going to start The Hunger Games soon. The movie was great I think.

To: oblivion. Thanks, but I am not into zombie stories.

To: Chris O'Connell. Haven't seen the movie, but really enjoyed the book. Have Mockingjay on reserve/request at my local library.

To: oblivion. The last fiction I had published was in a college literary magazine about 50 years ago. Most of my writing (until my retirement) was related to my law practice. Wills, Trusts, Contracts, Leases, Pleadings, Briefs. I hope to submi something soon though.

Cattleman, although this sounds like a Zombie story, it is much more (Zombies are more or less the frame)...I was hesitant to read it at first as well but am glad I relented. I think we do have a rather nice standard here and we wouldn't be reading it otherwise :; I'm sure you'll find a discussion or two you'll like to join. Please just jump in.
