General thoughts

Unread post

I have only just finished reading this book and unfortunately have not had time to read up on the philosophical background. But I do have some general thoughts that would be interested in discussing.

The book seems to be mostly about truth; about whether we should search for "truth", whether it is possible to actually find it and whether we should or not. It seems to discuss the importance of he individual perspective versus universal truth how it is used in obtaining and holding power over people and the fact that truth, paradoxically, should always remain questionable.

In today's political and religious climate where people are questioning cultural and religious beliefs held by both their own and other peoples' culture, this seems to be a particularly important book.
