Re: Theist, Atheist, Agonistic...
There are many sublime, inspiring passages in the Bible. For instance, I've always found this one entertaining:
"I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent." 1 Timothy, 2:12
I also enjoy Deuteronomy 21:18-21, in which God tells Moses that rebellious children who drink too much should be stoned to death by religious leaders.
It is very hard not to be inspired by Dr. King, but it is very easy to avoid inspiration when he quotes from a book that many people used to justify black slavery in the first place. Many Christians have fought hard against slavery and racism throughout the centuries, and countless Christians have been victimized by it, but the whole spaghetti mess ought to caution us to be inspired by ideas and not by books and dogma.
I do not care where Dr. King received his inspiration, I am just happy to share in it.
Forgive me for making my first post here a semi-controversial one.

I was just browsing and this caught my attention.
