Hello everyone. I am Richard Sitler and am posting to promote my new work
The News Urinal.
The News Urinal is about a staff of a daily newspaper dealing with the changes in their industry. I believe it is an honest portrayal of life in the newsroom of a daily paper. Writers are often encouraged to write about what they know, and I know newspapers from over 15 years of experience on working for newspapers in Ohio, Indiana, New Hampshire and New Jersey. The industry has seen dramatic changes, mostly for the worse, since the beginning of my career. This novel is set in the 1990's, which in my opinion was the beginning of the end for newspaper journalism. The late 1980's and early 1990's saw newspapers being gobbled up by large corporations who were more interested in making money than in journalism. The rise of the cost of ink and newsprint forced many smaller papers out of business or forced them to sell out to the corporations.
Then along came the internet. The newspaper industry was late to embrace the new technology and has languished every since.
With all that as background my work tells the story of one newspaper staff as they deal with all the changes.
