The Devil's Gift, a vengeful tale of a 14th century vampire, seeking justice for God's actions.

Unread post

Hi everyone!

I'm new to the site, seen some great things so far, very interesting books by the looks of a lot of them. Just quickly, I'm Connor Wolf, I'm 19, I wrote The Devil's Gift, a 402 page novel, following a very vivid dream that showed me things unheard of, and rarely written about. I've had some wonderful feedback so far, but I really want to reach out and share my book with others. This is the blurb:

A 14th century vampire, born from the ashes of darkness, delivers a horrifying truth into the world of religious conflict. He seeks his final act of revenge against the one who betrayed him: God. Shedding light onto a ground-breaking truth that will uproot the religious foundations on which we live, Roconn Romano finally reveals to the world the truth about God. Free will is just an illusion.

**SPOILER**

So basically, a very brief run-down of the book that is 112,500 words. Roconn* Romano and his wife, Maria, had been turned by the Devil personally into vampires in 1315 A.D., Italy. Following a freak storm where the human Roconn, who was Greyton's (a fictional village near Rome) priest, was giving a christening, God had destroyed the church and killed everyone inside, forcing Roconn to watch his children die. The Devil saves him from death and offers him a chance to exact revenge and destroy God's reign over mankind by infecting the Pope, and drip-feeding them the truth about God, how he is the evil one, not the Devil.

100 years later, after establishing a worldwide population of vampires, Roconn and Maria, ruling as vampire-royal, the strongest of the vampires, are finally are about to complete their mission and infect the Pope. Maria is killed by Roconn's old ally, Klomano**, who sought the throne for himself. After battling through his emotions, Roconn was unable to finish the plot, foiled by Sophia, whose eyes reminded him of Maria. Roconn falls in love once more to Sophia, who's later revealed as an angel, sent to earth to guide humanity, she, too, falls in love and abandons her post as the Pope's advisor. Following an attack from Cardinals, Roconn and Sophia agree to find Klomano and join forces with him as they are faced with battling angels, more deadly than the vampires.

Soon, it becomes clear, after infiltrating the Vatican, to gain enemy information which they were convinced was hidden there, Roconn, Sophia, Oceana (Venetian clan's leader, succeeded after Klomano's escape), Armaita (a rogue angel that joined Roconn's growing army) and Venator (a werewolf created by Lucia (the Devil) to protect a pregnant Sophia) are to delve into the mythical place of Agartha to retrieve an ancient weapon that will destroy ALL evil and offset the world's natural balance. Roconn finds out that Lucia and Deus (God) were once lovers, long before the dawn of humanity. She was banished from heaven when, after warning him not to, God created Adam and Eve (and unknowingly pouring his own greed into their soul) forcing Lucia to create a snake that would tempt them to defy Deus' orders. That was why God has never given a sign of his existence, he's abandoned humanity for Adam and Eve's betrayal, forcing him to lose Lucia.

The end of The Devil's Gift shows Roconn return with a box, the weapon of unspeakable power that God was going to use to destroy Sophia's baby (a combination of angel and vampire, an abomination in God's mind). The weapon is ring, a diamond wedding ring, that God poured his undying love for Lucia into. Should she put on the ring (his love has a powerful pull to do just that), Lucia would be drawn back to the light, therefore, destroying evil at its heart. She does not put on the ring and Roconn and Sophia abandon their quest for vengeance after realising every single step they've made had been planned for them by God. His children were killed so that he would become a vampire, Maria was killed so that he would have no choice (in his own mind) but to continue his revenge. Each action he has taken had a recurring effect that would see him deliver the ring to Lucia, that which Deus could not do himself. In his last attempt to spite Deus, Roconn sheds his role as leader and leaves for Paris where he and Sophia raise their baby, Lucy, in private, blending in with humanity. The book is Roconn's journal.

Although that wasn't QUITE as brief as I'd hoped, there are still SO many details I have left out because it would go on forever. I've also been fortunate enough to be discovered by a film agent, who has taken on The Devil's Gift, in the hopes of striking a film adaptation deal.
