| I just found out that the steampunk movement exists. It is supposed to be based on some works of fiction. Has anyone here read those works of fiction? Are they any good? Hint: My mom reads ANY kind of popular Sci Fi. I only liked Bradbury, Ellison, Tanith Lee, Asimov, Huxley. She read the whole Dragon Riders series. The only part I liked was the description of the dragons. I hated the movie Dune, and certain popular Sci Fi on TV. I'm saying I'm a picky reader. I only like the best of the best. But everything about the steam punk movement is so awesome and the fans are so rabid, it looks like it might be a good idea to read the novels that started it. Or maybe not. I can't decide. But I'm a freak for Victorian stuff which they are way into. |

I have heard of Cyber Punk...but not this "Steam Punk". Can you post a link to anything on this? I will search in the meantime.

| Pullman's His Dark Materials fits into the steam punk genre. |
