Spam Posts & how we're eliminating them
We've researched where all the recent spam is originating from and are now banning all access to BookTalk.org from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Russia. Anyone who runs a forum will understand that spam is a nasty thing and it destroys the quality of the experience for all involved. We have never had a spam problem and I'm not about to tolerate it now.
In 6+ years we have had only one member from China, but he is no longer active. To those of you that find this an extreme measure I can only say that time has a value and I can't spend 30 minutes per day cleaning up the forums and deleting posts about shoes.

IMPORTANT
If any of you ever see a 403 Forbidden error when you try to access BookTalk.org please send an email to me at chris@booktalk.org right away. It is possible for this to happen if you are issued one of the blocked UP addresses. Indie just blocked over 5000 IP's.
