SOAP OPERA ADDICTS!!!!!!!!!
every day since I was 12 years old, I have been a diehard Young and the restless fan. I have watched other soaps, but once my kids were born, I gave up all the others for the Young and the restless. I will watch his show either until it comes to an end or I do. I will not divulge my age, but, let's just say I am 39 again!!!!!!!

I don't know how you could have just watched the Young and the restless for only one summer. From the moment I turned it on I was hooked. by the way, how do you become a discussion leader on here.

I sometimes watch the Spanish soaps to work on my Espanol. They are hilarious! My husband says you know it is a dramatic moment because they flare their nostrils. The Spanish news is a bit harder. The language is more intelligent. I am going to be glad when I can watch the Spanish news and instantly know what they are saying like I do with English. I don't know how long that will take.

I think it's offered to the person that nominates a book (mine's "The Road") that wins a poll. If they decline, then they make a post asking for a volunteer.

I have watched some of the Spanish soaps too!!!!!! they are hilarious to watch. I had three years of Spanish in high school but all I know how to do is to conjugate verbs! My first year I did have conversational Spanish so I do know how to say I have to go to the bathroom and my name and I know how to ask somebody else what their name is, but pretty much decides that I'm useless but it is so funny to see the expressions on those peoples faces!

by the way, thank you Wilde for the information. I am a director of bookings and promotions for an author on here too.... how do you get your book nominated as he would love to do a chat on here to introduce his book.

well, most books last about 2 months I think, and near the end of the time slot for each book, a nominations thread (either by chris or suzanne usually) will be posted and you can nominate a book there. and if said nomination gets some interest it'll be put into a poll. each member gets 3 votes.

wilde..... I am a little confused. What do you mean by most books last about two months. From what I remember, I believe Chris had told either myself or the author I work for, Mitch Reed, that he had to have 25 posts on here. Since I am his director of bookings and promotions, and I have way over that many posts, and his book, he entered or nominated for him to do a chat on here? I could do the chat, but although I have read all of his books, since he is the author, he would be the most knowledgeable person for the readers on here to talk to. By the way, you seem like a very nice person. I just have to remember to stay out of politics with the people on here and I'll be fine
So, this is about soap operas I guess we kind of blew that topic out of the water!!anyway, wilde, thank you for being so nice in answering my question!

Re: SOAP OPERA ADDICTS!!!!!!!!!
Well, if you go on the main page and look at the books there's months below them. For example, "The Road" is for Nov and Dec. (Sort of like a book on the month... sort of..) Of course you can always still post in the other book forums, but they aren't as active. I remember there was a class in the Heart of Darkness forum for a while..
But what about other soaps? I watched As the World Turns (did that get cancelled or am I thinking of something else?) for a while.. although I did get plot lines mixed up with Y&R sometimes.
And I should probably try to watch Spanish soaps too. My Spanish knowledge is starting to fade.

Re: SOAP OPERA ADDICTS!!!!!!!!!
willde......where do you live? I think I lived there too! Mitch Reed has a book that is being advertised on this website. It is called blessings of the father. It is an amazing book and when I contacted him to tell him how much I liked his book, it was then that I decided to work for him. It was actually my idea. I live in Pennsylvania and Mitch is in California but I am hoping to book a four for him soon. I used to watch General Hospital until my youngest was born. Then, I barely had enough time to sleep so I gave that show up and just watch the Young and the restless. The people on that show are so damn rich that I laugh every time they take the Newman jet. Honestly, if I watched another story. I would start getting them confused too! I see you live in a place that I may join... LOL. My kids are going to drive me there fast. So honestly where you live?you have been so nice to me which I probably repeated for my last post. I was in the politics rooms and there was too much fighting going on. Some people just don't understand how I do. I am a conservative so it's hard to make people wake up and see what is really happening in our government. Anyhow, thank you for the information. It is very much appreciated. katie rose Dir. of bookings and promotions for 'Books by Mitch Reed'

okay hotshot, you were only a state away from me. How old are you? And what is your real name? You can just give me your first name. Are you an author? You had better respond to this or I am coming to Ohio to find you.
