No, I did contact him last year and got permission to publicize his unjustly neglected book. At the time he was involved in a lawsuit to recover money of which he had been defrauded, and could deal with nothing else.

Sakis, in my opinion, is a lone genius. His book contains insights available nowhere else, yet it also contains factual errors that would have been quickly corrected had he networked with others. Also, I consider the involvement of sortilege with the hexagrams to be tragic.

Your directions to locate meta refresh didn't work for me. Window's help says that meta refresh is for monitor flicker --not my problem -- and I'd rather live with the problem than make things worse. If it's only me, it's not a problem.

So you either have no firewall or just the poor excuse for one that comes with windows. You do need one, your system is probably full of nasty bits hiding. If I were to recommend a paid one it'd be Outpost Firewall, it's a good and fairly easy to use application. There's other good ones out there of course.

As for the meta refresh, you were just reading about the wrong thing. Meta refresh has nothing to do with your refresh rate, which is indeed a monitor setting. Meta refresh uses (amazingly enough) a meta tag in html to refresh a page. It's that simple.

I'd strongly suggest you clean up your system and do some preventative maintenance. Get a good firewall, make sure it's configured correctly, get Spybot S&D and run it. If you're still having this issue after that then I'll try and help further.

Tom, Spybot is an awesome program that I too recommend. It is 100% free too.

You should download it and run it at once. I image it will find tons of spyware on your computer the first time you run it. You can delete all that stuff and clean up your hard drive and your computer will run faster. The first time I ran it I was amazed at all the stuff that had accumulated on my system.

Ever since I started using Zone Alarm I have had far fewer problems. I use it as my firewall and turn off the Windows one.

I've heard good things about Zone Alarm.

I use Kaspersky Internet Security for everything including the firewall. It is an awesome program.

Tom, if you don't have a firewall it is a matter of time before your computer dies. I hate to say that but it's true. And if you lack the computer knowledge to install and tweak a good firewall software ask someone for help, but get it up and running quickly. Every few minutes (not hours or days) I get a little message telling me there was another attempt at an exploit. I'd be doomed without a firewall.

I do indeed lack the knowledge, live in the country, have dial-up access that makes downloading large files like spybot impossible, and to do anything is a time-consuming hassle, but I have taken the above warnings to heart and will try something. Thanks.

I took my computer to the shop Monday and now have a firewall and Firefox, which solves the Shoutbox problem. Have also figured out how to draw hexagrams:
