|
|

Hi all,
As many of you have noticed we've got a bug in the forums, which we're currently working on squashing. It involves linking to the last post in certain topics, such as the links you click on in the "Recent Topics" box in the sidebar.
You may right now get the error "No posts exist for this topic" but it is incorrect. No posts have been lost. All posts are accessible. You just need to know how to access them until we get the direct linking fixed.
| So here's what you do: |
If you get the error on a given topic, and that topic shows as being say 10 pages long, then go to the end of page 9 to see the most recent post. If you add a post and create an actual page 10, then the bug will go away for awhile. So you need to enter the topic from viewforum.php, rather than a direct link to the most recent post. |
As I said above, no data has been lost at all. The forum script is currently generating an extra blank page for the topics when the previous page is full. We currently allow 15 posts to show per page, so when there's 15 posts on the last topic of a page the forum adds another page which can't be viewed - specifically because there are no posts in that page.
I'm sorry for the inconvenience of this and the confusion it's created. We'll get it resolved as fast as possible.
If you have any other questions or feedback please post it in this topic.
Thanks. |

Please bare with us folks. This is frustrating for us all, but eventually we'll have it solved. Or Indie will have it solved. I am clueless. |

Actually, indie, the content of some of the threads is completely gone. You can't access it by clicking on the second to last page. The error message, "No posts exist for this topic" will come up regardless which page you click.
For instance, the Al Gore's Climate for Change thread only has two or three posts in it, but none are accessible.

Likewise, the "Rationally Speaking: Are You as Bright?" is empty as is "Psychological Need for Religion."

Hi geo,
I don't doubt you saw these problems, I saw a topic like this myself, (the "we're changing hosts" one in this forum) however all these topics seem to be working now.
This issue is as intriguing as it is frustrating. If you turn up anything else please let us know.
Thanks. |

| I haven't seen this bug in the past 10 days or so. I'm going to change this thread from an Announcement to just a Normal post. If the bug happens again I'll make this thread an Announcement again. |
