What do the thread icons mean?

I couldn't find it anywhere, the icons such as the fire symbol, apple, bullseye, etc. next to the thread titles.

They don't mean anything in particular. They're just another way to personalize your posts. And I agree with DWill in that you've been a great addition to the community.

Thanks, I hope to see more participation in the non-fiction books, I notice a lot of the old discussions die out.

You ever think about having a new selection every month, and keep a two-month period so they overlap? Although everyone's busy of course, and I suppose it could be too much, but it could get more people involved so they don't have to wait two months if they're sitting one out.

There have been 2 fiction books being discussed in the same time period...

I know I haven't participated much in nonfiction because since I've joined, the books have mostly been scientific or philosophic. Not my cup of tea.

We've tried many different ways of staggering our book discussions. Nothing is ideal for everyone and nothing really seems to draw in a large group of participants. It is a bit frustrating.

Keep in mind that we've been around for over 8 years so we've had the opportunity to experiment a bit with how we schedule book discussions. We've tried having books starting every 30 days and last 2 or 3 months. There will always be some people that like and some people that do not like any particular method. I'm not sure what is best.
