Mad, I for one hope you are not abandoning us completely, because I enjoy your posts.
So you will not be having internet at all in your house? Geez, you'll be productive as all get out, because the internet can certainly be addictive, but.....

| I am here, too. How can you people live without high speed internet? My father recently told me that we were not on the list of acceptable places to go unless we had wireless internet in the house. High speed goes without saying in my family. |

| It actually hasn't been that bad. I'm finally finding all sorts of time to both read and write at home, and having the library time limit forces me to better organize my online time. And the upshot for you guys: shorter messages per capita! |

Hi all --
Another newbie checking in. I found out about this forum a few weeks ago when Dave Pollard mentioned it on his blog at . Since then I've been lurking & looking around the forum. Wow!
I'm tickled to find a group of people who like to read the same kinds of books that I do. Around here, nobody seems to read these sorts of books, let alone discuss them. So it will be a new experience to actually *discuss* a book rather than just ruminate about it.
It's too late for me to tackle _Collapse_ (I'm in the middle of _Guns, Germs and Steel_ and _When Elephants Weep_, started before I learned of you.) but I'm looking forward to the next book next month… and to a functioning forum. Best of luck bringing things back up.
