My computer is dead and in the shop. No emails for a few days.
A few days ago my computer suddenly shut down and smoke billowed out from the back of the tower. OK, "billowed" might be a slight exaggeration, but I definitely saw some smoke. And the smell was pretty awful too. Something bad happened.
So I thought it was the power supply and I headed to CompUSA to buy a new one. With David's help (MidnightCoder, our web guru) I installed the new power supply. The moment I plugged in the power cord the same thing happened, but this time I was on the floor close to the back of the computer tower, so I was able to clearly see the smoke coming out of the bottom of the tower.
Long story short my computer is in the shop and they should have it on the bench tomorrow morning. I assume it was my C: drive dying, but they said it could be any of a variety of things. According to them, when a drive dies you usually don't see smoke and smell burning. It could be one of my boards that fried or even the motherboard. We'll soon see.
The moral of the story is....
Well, there is no moral. I just am looking for sympathy and a shoulder to cry on.

This couldn't come at a worse time for me. But life doesn't always work the way you want it to and I'll figure this mess out soon.
Please don't email me for a few days. I use my ISP email and right now accessing it through WebMail is a royal pain in the @$$. I'll make a post when I am back at full capacity with email. You can send me PM's through BookTalk.org at any time. Those will still arrive.
