The Bible?

I am considering creating a forum specifically for reading and discussing the Bible. I have never read the entire book and would love to dive into it. I'm wondering if this is a good idea. I see nothing wrong with some Christians joining BookTalk to help educate people as to the storyline of the Bible....not necessarily the magical stuff.

I think it's a great idea, but not only for including Christians in Book Talk discussions, but for simply discussing the wonderful piece of literature it is!

I don't consider myself a Christian but The Bible remains one of my most treasured books. There are many non-Christian thinkers who feel the same, so by all means, give it a shot. Be careful in fomatting the forum, though. Breaking the forum up in The Old and New Testament Chapters (though threads may be titled this way), for example, may give a too formal impression. The idea is not to intimidate people (I'm assuming) but to get them talking about The Bible from their own point of view (despite the belief of some Christians that there is only one point of view!).

p.s. If you need a mod, I'm willing to volunteer.

Chris, if you decide to do this, make sure to include a section for Apocrypha (not just deutrocanonical). A guy I know once said that you can't really understand what has been included until you discover what has been left out. It is rather interesting.
