I'll be contacting Dr. Jared Diamond soon to see if his offer to chat with us is still good. We had canceled the chat session, as some of you might recall, because we were a bit too small back in 2003 to be asking a Pulitzer Prize winning author to be our guest. Well, I think we have now earned the right and I would love to talk to you all about this.
In order to invite him for a chat we would want a group of us reading "Guns, Germs And Steel" again, or for the first time. We do not have to have this book as our current book selection...since is already was at one time. But we would want a group of people interested enough to be reading and discussing it. Any opinions?

It would be wonderful to have Jared Diamond in to chat. I own and have read Guns, Germs, and Steel and The Third Chimpanzee by Jared Diamond. I prefer The Third Chimpanzee. I would suggest us reading The Third Chimpanzee, especially since many of us are interested in that topic. I have finished reading Damasio's book and would be happy to participate in discussions on either or both of the Diamond books.
