| I am on a constant quest to find a good book to read. It seems so difficult. Most books seem so cookie cutter where the story hasn't changed, just the characters and places. |

OK. I'll rise to the challenge.
You want a book that's not a cookie-cutter product? Try Blindness, by Jose Saramago. You won't like it, but you won't be able to not read it. He's got a sequel out now, entitled Seeing, but the reviews have not been great. It's apparently something akin to Bartleby the Scrivener.
And then there's Memnoch the Devil, by Anne Rice. It's not very well written (nothing Anne Rice writes is well written), but it's a fascinating discussion of the relationship between Man and God, a subject that really hasn't been written about much in fiction in a very long time. |
