Hi, My name is Indigo. I was surfing through the ezboards for Atheism and your community came up. Seems like a nice place for discussion. It's great that you have book recommendations. They'll help me in my research into the realm of belief/non-belief.
Anyway, hope to be able to contribute positively to the community.

Welcome to the community. When you say you're researching into the realm of belief and nonbelief what do you mean? Is this a personal journey or something academic? Are you currently an atheist or believer?

Welcome! Feel free to jump right into our discussions. We have just started reading and discussing The Ethical Brain, by Michael Gazzaniga. I hope that you can get a copy of the book and join the discussion.

Sorry it's been so long since I visited. Thank you for the welcomes. Religion interests me. Mainly on the psychological level as far as how it affects people in what they do, how they treat others because of their beliefs, how the belief about God has developed over the centuries and why.
I was a theist but within the last few months have become more agnostic in my thinking. I don't feel we have enough evidence that goes one way or the other and honestly I'm not even sure we're meant to know.
I'll try to get a copy of the book. Hopefully the library will have one as I spent this month's book funds on getting Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Ultimate collection.
