Hi, I joined this forum several weeks ago and this is my first post. I live in Toronto, Canada and I like to read general fiction. I always make sure I have a non-fiction book on the go as well. I'm a twenty-six year old female and I will be running my first half-marathon on Sunday. I look forward to getting to know you all.
What I'm reading now: The Epic of Gilgamesh, The Lord of the Rings, Prozac Nation, The Kings and Queens of England. |

Welcome to the community, Lector. Is that your real name or simply what you go by online? I find "Lector" to be a rather cool name.
Good luck on the 1/2 marathon. Usually I don't use so many smilies. Not sure what's wrong with me tonight. |

Hello, Lector (cooler name than being just "lecteur", isn't it?).
Welcome to Booktalk.
You seem to have wide-ranging tastes in books. |

Hey there Welcome to the forum. I'm only just back here myself after a bit of an absence.
It's good to read wide and it seems like you do this. I quite liked Prozac Nation. Elizabeth Wurtzel has a way of putting certain feelings into words that is so unique. |

Hi, Lector
I am new here, just joined today as a matter of fact. I haven't even introduced myself yet, but was just reading a few introductions on here and saw that you have run a half-marathon. How did it go? I ran my first one a few years ago then after a couple more I ran a marathon at age 46. I think it was my one and only and have scaled back on the running for other things. |

Hi Chris, thanks for the welcome. Lector isn't my real name. It means "reader" in Latin. I've never been very creative when coming up with screen names, so I decided to try something new! |

Thanks for the welcome Ophelia. I love that name. It reminds me of Shakespeare! I do try to read a variety of books. Sometimes I pick something different up and hate it, but at least I try. I think a lot of people miss out on a lot of great reading because they won't try reading something new. |

I just finished Prozac Nation and I really enjoyed it. Apparently she wrote a sequel of sorts but I don't think it was as well received as PN. I look forward to getting to know you!
Interbane - Thank you for the warm welcome!
Realiz - Well I ran the 1/2 and it was a real challenge! I really slacked off in my training and I won't even tell you how long it took me to complete the race. LOL Let me just say it's a good thing I didn't have a time goal. |

| Well, it is pretty good just to finish a 1/2 marathon regardless of how long it takes.! |
