We've installed a new referral system. At the bottom of all of your posts you will see a button labeled "refer." And at the top of all pages directly to the left of the "Profile" button you'll see "Top Referrals." It will take some experimenting and practice to get use this new system, but it has been tested and it works well.
Those members that refer BookTalk.org to family and friends will receive free books in appreciation for their help marketing our community. Click on the "refer" button at the bottom of all of your posts and it will launch the page your family member or friend will use to register their free account on BookTalk.org. There is a number attached to the registration page that is associated with you and you only. So click "refer" to launch that page, then go to your address bar and copy the URL. This is your personal referral URL. Give that URL to anyone you want to refer to BookTalk.org, and if they join through that link you will get credit as the referring member. This is a great new feature and I will be watching to see who helps spread the news about BookTalk.org.

You might notice that the list of online members now includes the names of the search engine spiders that are currently spidering/crawling our site. As an example, right now these are the people online:
Chris OConnor, Dissident Heart, Frank 013, Google Bot, MSN Bot, Robert Tulip, Yahoo/Inktomi Bot
You see 3 different spiders up there in blue text. Please don't attempt to form a relationship with these members as they are really not real human beings. LOL

See the stars under your name in the left sidebar? You'll see 1 blue star for every year you have been a BookTalk.org member. This is just a little feature added to show how long we've all been members.

A new AJAX thingy has been installed. What is AJAX? I have no idea. Something very technical and mysterious. But the good news is this AJAX thingy will now automatically update the list of online members. You don't have to refresh your window to have the online member list refreshed.
