You guys should save this discussion for around Halloween.
Anyway, regarding books that deal with cannibalism, at least indirectly.
The Wreck of the Whaleship Essex, A Narrative Account by Owen Chase, First Mate is quite a riveting account about the Essex, which went down after it was rammed by a whale. I believe the incident inspired Herman Melville's Moby Dick, who made the whale a symbolic white. The survivors had to take to three separate longboats, eventually getting separated in the Pacific and only a few survived. It's been some time since I read this, but I believe they actually drew lots to see who would have to die to feed the rest. Pretty grim stuff.

The other book is Ordeal by Hunger by George Stewart, a rather fascinating account of the Donner Party.
