Hey Shannon- I too was looking for a place to discuss books and found this--and at first was put off by the atheist view. I am not a church goer but do believe in God. Hope we can find a place for good book discussions together. |

Welcome to BookTalk! You're very much welcome here at BookTalk, whether you believe in God or not. There are a zillion sites out there for Christianity and other world religons, so I'm sure you can understand why BookTalk was created.
Freethinkers like to be amoung other freethinkers at times, but this doesn't mean we want to exclude believers. Just be cognizant that our book selections will always be of interest to freethinkers, and arguments that cannot be supported by logic are doomed here. BookTalk is about reading, thinking, learning and growing. As long as our members embrace this view, they are welcome here. When a tough question is asked...we all have to have the courage to answer it with honesty. You may be asked questions or you might want to present other members with questions. I'm hoping that we all have the strength to stand strong and defend our positions with reason.
