HI!!! The "Join" section told me I have to do this introduction thingy to be a part of the super secret da-da-dandy book club of impending neatoness. Well, here I am! My name is John, and I was sent here by a neat guy named Howard Bloom. Mabye you have heard of him? hehe! Umm... I have a neat obsession with running water... Especially warm water. Wow... I don't know how to describe it, but it completely fascinates me... OH! Water from a hose is really exiting also! Except sometimes there are so many plants to water that I feel overwhelmed, and think that some of the plants aren't getting an equal fair share of water. I try my best though... Hmm.. Ok thats all! Hi everybody!

It has come to my attention that the above information lacks any real information about me.

So, that being said, my name is John, and I live in Phoenix, AZ. I was born 9/21/81 and discovered Booktalk.org, as stated above, from Howard Bloom, author of The Lucifer Principle My hobbies/interests include far, far to many things to post here. Music has decided to use me for the majority of her time. I am the keyboardist for a band here in AZ called. Damnit! I really wanna list more interests of mine, but there are a lot. Im gonna let my fingers think for me. Here they go: puppies, trees, kitties, water, bugs, rain, you, math, spirit, history, science, final fantasy, eggs, Italian food, orange juice, absinthe, writing, dirt, back scratches, piano, reading, cleaning, smiling, talking, hugging, flash programming, web development, grassy fields, art, magic tricks, exploration, self expression, paint, chicken feet, the legend of zelda, life, leaves, computers, and the list goes on and on and on.

So that should about do it for now. If ya wanna know anything else about me, feel free to ask.

I just explored your band's website and listened to some of your songs. Wow! I feel violated. LOL. That's some intense stuff. I'm going to have nightmares for a week after seeing Eddie's mutilated arm. I hope that's just paint.

I read through the lyrics to some of the songs. Who writes them? I'm sure your band is a big hit with Christian mothers. Do your bandmembers share your views and interest in reading?

I'm very intrigued by you and your band. Your fascinating from a safe distance, like a lion in a den at the zoo. I mean that in a good way.

Yes, the blood is real. But some of it might not be all his. There is a good chance there is some pigs blood splashed in there, and maybe a chicken foot or two. Fear not! We killed no pig. The swine's fuel was purchased at our local oriental super market, along with the chicken feet. All this blood talk is sure to bring on some questions, which I will answer and explain in full upon request. As far as the lyrics, Eddie writes them all. My bandmates do indeed share my same views, especially Eddie. He is the one who introduced me to "The Lucifer Principle" a while back. I have met very few people with the sincere respect for life that he has... This might seem awkward, but our bands honest intention is to liberate the listener, and open up minds to a world of deep respect and understanding of life. The stage show, makeup, and blood are nothing more than tools of boundless self expression, designed to affect the listener in the deepest sense. We (mostly Eddie) have received HUNDREDS of gifts from fans as tokens of gratitude for changing their lives. There was one guy who proposed to his girlfriend at the end of our song, "Pieces." Another individual let us know that he was moments away from ending his life, but our music "saved" him, and got him back on track. I have also seen more tattoo's of our band than I can count, one including my singers FACE on a guys arm. The point of these highlights is to back up my proposal that what we do is passionate and true.

As for the songs, the ones you heard were most likely from MP3.com, who recently decided to remove half of our songs, leaving only older material. This will be fixed soon. I am going to compile a ZIP file of our cream of the crop songs for you Cheryl, and anybody else in my lovely booktalk family that would like them. Aside from the limits of what you can all see and hear on the web, the true magic is at our live shows. If anybody in the booktalk community lives in AZ, or makes it out here, it would be my pleasure to give you guestlist/all access accomidations. Just lemme know.

I like the idea of using this forum as an introudction-getting-to-know-you thing, along with a journal. That being said, here is my brain today.

Here in AZ we have our street corner, like every other state, that is full of protesters of the war in Iraq. On the Northwest corner of Mill and Broadway, a significantly large group of souls have gathered in what seems to be a rare treat of endorphin pumping self expression. On the Southwest corner of Mill and Broadway, an equally repressed group have gather to show support for the war. What a rare treat! I am indeed a youngin, and plan to observe our interesting culture this Friday night, in what should be the peak of protests. It is my understanding that the war is at is hungriest right now, this very moment as I type this. I have to confess, that I do not originate from this planet, therefor nullifying all opinions I have on the race of man. I had an idea of making two signs, one pro-war, and one anti-war, and going back and forth every 15 minutes, to taste the potency of both groups. I am shy though, and probably wont do this. Instead, I will simply observe. Throughout my travels through the physical and metaphysical universe, I have noticed a common trait among species. Higher evolved beings observe things on a much larger, much more patient scale. You can almost use this formula as a benchmark to tell how evolved a species is... By the rate they observe...

Only in movies and books have I heard of genuine protesters of this magnitude. It is so very rare and precious to have so many individuals speaking loud and clear on what they believe in. Most of these people never get the chance to declare a statement to the world of who they are. This is their 15 minutes. This is their once in a life time chance (so they have been taught) to stop suffocating on mundane everyday events. It is moments like this that the human soul is at its finest...

(Update 03/22/03):
(sigh)... How naive I was... My grand expedition was a complete and total failure... The human soul at its finest? I hope not... I have relearned that the race of man, for the most part is apathetic and boring. I saw nothing creative. Nothing inspiring. Nothing influential. The antiwar cluster far outweighed the pro-war cluster. The pro-war group of about 12 people circled the intersection over and over, hollering the profound statement, "Support our troops!" I should have pulled one of them aside and asked, "What does that meen? Support our troops?" It would have been great to see the wriggling and uncomfortable squirming of there thought process. It appeared to me that this was nothing more than a trend, a fashion statement, that these hollow patriots were displaying. I did hear a clever and witty response from an antiwar guy to a pro-war guy in response to "Support our troops!" and that was, "Put your money were your mouth is! ENLIST!" That made me smile. Other than that, the antiwar groupies were just as boring. Though I support neither side, I did make one interesting observation... Judging the caliber of mentality and awareness one thing was clear... The antiwar people seemed most likely to go home on that Friday night and read a book, where the pro-war group was gonna hit the bar. My friend reminded me of a fabulous quote from the movie "Seven," "To make people listen these days you have to hit them with a sledgehammer." That is so very, very true...
