The separation of religion and government is something that I think most people in this forum can agree with.
If religion was totally separated from the government, marriage would be separated too.
Would there be any benefits to this? |

You must be joking.
Even in the States, the government deals only with civil marriage, which is entirely separate from, and can be followed by, on the couple's wishes, any sort of religious ceremony they wish to add. |

Nope, not joking. Just got it wrong.
I see now that civil marriage is a contract between two people and under the rules of the government. It pays to do research!
Maybe I can come up with a way to salvage this embarrassment. I'll need to think of something.

Don't feel bad about it. It's not like hundreds of people saw it--oops, I guess it is. But still, . I'm the guy that brought you
the data on OPEC that was three years out of date! Go boldly forth, etc.

Ok, I put a post in my blog about this issue. Hopefully I developed my argument a little more intelligently and brought up one or two good points.
Ophelia you aren't allowed to look. You are too smart for your own good. |
