Ralph:
The thread where one can earn books is called "Contests and Books Giveaway", but it's under construction and is locked for the moment. |

Okay...five great books....I won't be presumptuous enough to believe I can name the five indisputable greatest, but here are five great ones in my opinion:
1. Pride and Prejudice--Austen
2. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn--Twain
3. My Antonia--Cather
4. To Kill a Mockingbird--Lee
5. Persuasion---Austen |

My top five, which are always in flux are as follows:
1. Farewell to Arms--Hemingway(you could really put any of his novels here, except To Have or Have Not)
2. Gullivers Travels--Swift (I love the satire of Jonathan Swift)
3. 1984--Orwell
4. Red Badge of Courage--Crane (Simply because it is one of the first great American war novels.)
5. Howards End--Forster |
