This guy is pretty funny; the sad part is that there is a fair amount of the American public that would agree with his point of view… despite his sarcastic approach.
Well since high profile people like Kirk Cameron and his lackeys are making equally bad arguments I suspect that response can be reflex for some of us when we see this stuff.
Even though this guy was using satire it was not that much different than the arguments we normally hear in defense of the religious viewpoint, so I can understand any misunderstanding.

This is the part that cracked me up about the video. It was so funny because he is mocking the ridiculous arguments that theists use regularly for defending their beliefs.
