| I am currently reading "The Woman Warrior" by Maxine Hong Kingston, and I'm finding it incredibly confusing. I think that the confusing nature of the narration is perhaps an attempt to bring readers into the confusing mental state that the narrator is experiencing in her attempt to understand the meanings of her family's stories. Although this is a clever strategy, I feel that it takes away from the stories themselves, and perhaps, the point. Anyone agree/disagree? |
